Lacrosse in the Big Easy

The New Orleans LC has a strong history dating back well
into the 1970's. A former member of the SWLA, New Orleans
is also a high-profile club team, hosting the annual Mardi Gras
Tournament each February that attracts teams from all over
the country.

One of the flagship teams of the GCLA, NOLC is one of
only two teams to compete in the GCLA Playoffs in each
of the league's first three seasons.

NOLC has a heartbreaking history in the GCLA Playoffs,
however. In 1996 they were defeated by Tulane 12-11 in
the semifinals.

In 1997, NOLC defeated the Houston Roughnecks 7-1
in the semifinals only to be beaten by Houston-Metro 9-8
in overtime for the title.

In 1998, NOLC thumped the South Texas Storm 13-6 in
the semis only to fall to Metro 13-9 in the championship
game.

In 1999, NOLC defeated the South Texas Storm in the
semis only to once agin fall to Metro, while in 2000
they defeated Club Texas Lacrosse to advance to the
finals, where they fell to Tulane.

NOLC sets as its goal each year the GCLA Championship,
and beginning in 2002 they will compete as a GCLA
At-Large team.
