The Beaumont Lacrosse Club enters the 2008 GCLA season as the league's newest club team. The team has already scheduled its first practices at the athletic fields on College Street beginning on Saturday, January 12th at 2pm. Despite being a new club team, lacrosse is not new to the city. In 1998, Lamar University fielded a club team, and the city played host to the GCLA Championships that very same year.
